In this course students learn to read a number of types of Pre-Modern Japanese sources. Students learn Classical Japanese, and how to read Kambun (Sino-Japanese). We also study the various types of sources, how to find them, and how to evaluate them. This course is a graduate course, but open to qualified undergraduates.
